Ever heard a friend mention their bleached butthole or brag about their pearly white (and no, we don’t mean their teeth!)?
I think it’s safe to say many of us have heard of it but might not have any idea what butthole bleaching actually is, why people do it, or the process behind it. Whether you’re reading to inform your wandering mind or thinking about doing the deed, don’t stress any longer. Here is everything you need to know about butthole bleaching.
What is Butthole Bleaching?
Before you dive into deciding to bleach your butthole, let’s start off with explaining what it is. Butthole bleaching is a form of cosmetic treatment that aims to lighten the skin surrounding one’s butthole. Ever noticed the darker pigmentation around the outer rim of your anus? If not, now’s your chance to take a look with your closest hand mirror to see what everyone’s talking about.
Now that you’ve finally checked out your own bum after all these years, it’s time to talk about why people carry out butthole bleaching in the first place. Since the skin around your butthole and between your cheeks is darker than your actual skin, the bleaching process temporarily sheds light on the subject.
Doing so helps to create a more uniform color that’s similar to your actual skin tone. We all know confidence is the key, which is exactly why everyone’s so crazy about it. Butthole bleaching makes individuals feel confident with their appearance and no longer worried about a little doggy style or anal sex with their partner.
Let’s not forget to mention, the skin surrounding your anus is supposed to be darker, so don’t think it’s not normal or that you have to have the bleaching process done. This decision is entirely up to your aesthetically driven needs, and in the end, appreciating and loving your bleachless self for who you are is the best approach to self-confidence regardless.

Types of Butthole Bleaching
At this point, I know you’re intrigued, so let me tell you what various treatments professional bleachers provide.
There are several different ways you can “bleach” the area. The most common treatment is done professionally with a cream or gel. This cream or gel is placed on the discolored area for a period of time and then removed. Let’s be real for a sec; you didn’t actually think people were having professionals put Clorox bleach on their buttholes, right?
Don’t worry. I did, too, at first. Regardless of the name, there isn’t actual bleach involved in the process, and don’t you dare go grab some chlorine at the pool store and think you can pull this off.
Instead, these creams and gels typically contain various lightening properties such as hydroquinone, kojic acid, and arbutin, and overall, are body-safe.
If you decide to go with the cream or gel treatment, it shouldn’t cause too much discomfort during the process. I can’t say your bum will feel like a million bucks a few days afterward, but the results are worth it. Some normal and quite self-explanatory side effects may occur, such as itching, burning, soreness, and redness around the area.
Not that you’ll want to cause irritation after the process is completed, but they do recommend you stay away from anything that causes heat and friction for 3-5 days post-op. Doing so will prevent other infections and extended irritation, so go ahead and put your anal toys away for a few days. It’s not a walk in the park (no, literally, you can’t do that after), but the results do show themselves after several sessions and promote confidence in your desired area.
If you’re not up for the gel or cream option, you’re in luck. There’s another process available for your butthole bleaching needs, and it’s called laser treatment. This option has been said to be more result-driven and requires much less maintenance for the upkeep. The lightening around your anus is present much quicker and requires a once-a-year touch-up session to keep that bum looking uniform as ever.
Laser sessions also carry similar side effects, such as swelling, redness, and itching, but these are much less in intensity and generally go away more quickly than the gel/cream treatment. Before deciding on laser rather than cream or gel, make sure to do some research on the best treatment for your skin type. Some processes work better for those with darker pigmentations.
I know all my DIY friends out there already have the at-home kit in their amazon cart, but I’m here to tell you it’s not recommended. Of course, we can all make our own decisions here, but going to a professional first and talking over the at-home process with them before doing so might be a better idea.
These products sold online aren’t always regulated because of their “cosmetic” use, so who knows what chemicals they contain. Another factor to ponder on is the effectiveness. The at-home bleaching kits are known not to be as strong and can take much longer to see results. We don’t want anyone over applying the cream/gel and potentially causing a chemical burn to one of the most sensitive areas on the body, now do we?
No, so schedule an appointment first and see if you even like the results before trying to save some money.

Is Butthole Bleaching Safe, and are the Results Permanent?
Overall, butthole bleaching is safe when done correctly. Suppose the treatment is done incorrectly with unauthorized products. In that case, it can lead to various forms of infection, skin damage, and even indefinite skin discoloration (that’s a little ironic, considering the purpose of butthole bleaching in the first place, right?).
If that doesn’t make you want to have a professional do it, I don’t know what will, not to mention the fact that it’s temporary. In order to obtain long-term results, you’ll have to continue bleaching the area multiple times, especially at the beginning of the process. Once the desired color has been met, touch-up sessions occur on personal preference. This isn’t a one-and-done gig, and you have to be pretty passionate about maintaining this look if you really want to pursue butthole bleaching.
However, if you do get this cosmetic work done, you need to show things at least off a little bit! There’s never a better time to snag your favorite anal sex toys to play with your partner once the treatment has fully healed, as you’re going to be feeling yourself for sure.
You just might be more willing to try some butt stuff than you ever have before, as this is one heck of a way to prepare for anal sex!
Maybe snag one of the hottest nude photos you’ve ever taken, thanks to your radiating confidence and new look? And ah, perhaps think to flaunt a lovely jewel butt plug extending from the shiny white of your rear end?
In the end, butthole bleaching does leave your bum looking nice and uniform, and that’s why people like it, but don’t ever do this because you think your partner would prefer it better. Bodily acceptance is a keystone to a healthy relationship, and there’s a pretty good chance they love your anus for exactly how it is, especially if you let them play with it! So keep this in mind, and only perform butthole bleaching if it is something that YOU wish to do for your own sake.
Do your research, make diligent and informed decisions, and if you want it, then go for it!
